Yep, that's occasional MacRumors forum user @danamania

And that web page doesn't have the update - it crashed 3 days later, while still booting. Almost certainly killed the hard drive with nonstop HD thrash. Probably would be somewhat reasonable if you used a modern SSD via a SCSI adapter.

The setup does work on the mighty N900 tho - I should have tried it when I still had mine.

I dunno, it would be really cool to see PearPC running on, say, a 486 or Pentium I box, or a ~2000 iPAQ PDA.

An RPi running Panther would be epic, but that's just dreaming small. :3

I don't see why that wouldn't work. Using QEMU or PearPC, that is. But a Pi is way too new and powerful - where's the challenge in that? 😛

The coolest way to run Mac OS is via the Quix Daydream or Darkmatter... on NeXT hardware.

And the whole setup can be emulated:
