If you looked at the following pizzas: 1. Spinach Alfredo: made with a creamy spinach and garlic cheese sauce 2. Spinach Alfredo Deluxe: topped with bacon, mushrooms and onions 3. Spinach Alfredo, Chicken and Tomato: made with a creamy spinach and garlic, Parmesan cheese sauce, grilled chicken, fresh sliced Roma tomatoes and cheese Would you assume that the Spinach Alfredo Deluxe contained chicken? Out of the blue, my local Papa John's started putting chicken on the Spinach Alfredo Deluxe. When I returned the pizza (I do not eat chicken), they claimed that pizza always had chicken on it, which was untrue. A quick call to a few other local Papa John's confirmed that they did NOT put chicken on their Spinach Alfredo Deluxe pizzas. I e-mailed Papa John's corporate offices but have yet to get a reply.
*reports this thread in the silly thread thread* I do see your point... or at least, they ought to put it in the menu. "Topped with bacon, mushrooms and onions" doesn't seem to exactly convey the je-ne-sais-quoi du poulet. But if they change the menu, then, eh, well, menus change. Deal. At least it's a pizza place where you can order it the way you want.
I work at Mellow Mushroom, and I now live in NYC .... still the best American-style pizza I've ever had.
Whenever I order ANYTHING, I always explicitly ask, "Is there meat in/on it?" Gets a little tedious, but I'd rather spend an extra 45 seconds going over ingredients than an hour picking out bits of chicken. Gross.
