I was running Windows and all of a sudden, the screen went grey and said your computer has restarted, and offered for me to reopen the apps I was using, then parallels offered me to send an error report, saying it recovered from a serious error.

I have been getting nagging messages to upgrade to 9, saying it will not run on maverick, but I am running mountain lion, so I have seen no need to upgrade yet.

Before this it decided to compact my virtual machine and I let it do this, and all was fine, until last night with the sudden restart.

is paralells doing odd stuff deliberately so that I will upgrade?

I am running this on a 2011 mac mini running running 10.8.5.

It has only restarted once, right? Software naturally can't be error free, so expect rare crashes like that. No, parallels is not deliberately doing anything to crash your computer.

ok, well as long as it remains a rare occurance, I will take this as a hiccup that happens. Thanks for the reply.

well, just got chastized from moderators for trying to get some help, appearently I have to let my questions just go unanswered, if I dont get any replies, I have to have new content to bump a thread, well I paid a $_() for my mac, and then I am using paralells, which keeps badgering me to upgrade, and makes my mac pack up and restart when I am in the middle of something, so if I run into a problem, I dont think I am wrong in wanting an answer, but I understand this is a forum where people offer free help, so I would be best to to take this question to Patallells.
