    Dear all,

I just bought a retina 13 MBP late 2013. I need to use windows for some work reasons, I am kindly asking suggestions whether I should buy a parallel desktop or Fusion to install a Windows 8.1?

    Thanks!

I have Fusion and it works well but I hear good reports about Parallels too.
There is also VirtualBox which is free so that could be worth trying too.

Based on the fact that Fusion gets more free patches and Parallels tends to have more paid updates, I would recommend Fusion.

I've recently installed Windows 8.1 on a bootcamp partition which I'm also using with Parallels, with no issues so far.

Both have free trials. I would encourage you to try both and see which you like best. I personally prefer Fusion.
