I use the trial version from Parallels 13 and installed a new copy of Windows 10 that is not yet activated. I want to test it first. When I open Internet Explorer the page of google opens but the links on this page don't work. What can I do? I disabled firewall in MacOS and reinstalled the parallels tools. In the device manager the network adapter reports to work properly. But in the diagnotics I get this message:
"The computer appears to be correctly figured, but the device detected or the resource (DNS server) is not responding."
Can someone help me please. Thanks in advance.

Check the configuration of the VM, specifically the Network section. Set it to "Shared" as below:

You will have a MAC address in the "MAC" field; I simply blanked mine out for the screenshot.

What does your IP info look like? Bad DNS server?

FWIW, I have the firewalls enabled on my Win10 VM and my Mac and it works. You might also try Bridged with the default adapter.

There is one thing I changed in the advanced settings. I have chosen the Virtio Network Adapter. I didn't notice it first. Thanks for your help. It was very useful.

UPDATE: Unfortuneatly, after ten minutes my internet connection is lost again.:(
I also tried bridged with the default adapter. It's no use.

I have decided not to upgrade to Parallels 13 from version 11. Not only is Parallels 13 slower (no more 6 cores), I can't login on my previous Virtual Machine with Windows 10 anymore and a new download of Windows 10 on another computer gives me no internet. I am extremely disappointed in Parallels.

Something else is going on. My Win10 VM is working fine under v13.
