Parallels 8 Free Upgrade to 9

Hi just wondering if anyone had experience with this. Parallels 9 is being released tomorrow (9/5) and I was wondering if I bought Parallels 8 today and got the free upgrade tomorrow, I'd be able to give my sister the original parallels 8 activation key to use on her older MBA with Win7 while I upgrade to the new version. Do they deactivate the old key once you upgrade to the new version? TIA
 
Not sure about giving 8 to your sister, but I bought 8 on 8/1/13 and I am not eligible for the upgrade. I think you have 30 days.
 
Think I can answer my own question now. I bought Parallels 8 on 9/4 and yesterday I received an email with discount code to purchase Parallels 9 free of charge. So both versions should work moving forward as I'll have two unique activation keys. 🙂
