Hi,

I don't know if I'm having problems with my parallels/windows software. Every time I start parallels/windows, it takes a very, very long time to come up and then works very slowly and hangs frequently. It's my first mac and I've only had it for 6 months, so I don't have much on it. It can take up to 15 minutes to come up. It's to the point that I never want to use it and I have a lot of Windows software. This can't be right.

Please help, I know a little about computers, but I'm far from an expert.

Thanks,
Gina

Here are the specs:

OS 10.8.3
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro9,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.5 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB

Parallels 8.0
Windows 7, Service Pack 1
64 bit operating system
Memory: 1GB

It's not common. Check other programs running using Activity Monitor. How much RAM did you allocate for win7? Also, use 32bit version of win7 will use less RAM.

I've gotten to the point that I close all other apps before I start Parallels. I don't know what Activity Monitor is. Where do I find it. Sounds like Task Manager from PC.

Don't know how much is allocated for win7, don't know how to do it. Windows - Computer - Properties spec said Memory: 1 GB.

I will reload Windows 32 bit

Thanks
