So I have a problem with my parallels or my iMac, Trying to figure out a sharing printer problem trying to figure it out. I was running parallels and find that Parallels takes all available ram, I currently run 1GB. I have a 24" iMac and from what i know it can only support 3GB. I was planning on upgrading ram anyways, but I see that OWC sells 3gb, but I also see that people put 4gb in their system. Is that extra GB not being used then, overkill? And what's the recommended ram for parallels to not bog my system down? Is boot camp like this?

more ram is good for parallels since you are running windows withing os x

bootcamp would perform better based on current set up as all ram will be for windows as opposed to shared

id get the most ram you can

i made it so i had 1 gig for windows and one for mac. BUUUT my computer is limited to 2gigs total
