I'm getting this very odd message when I try to install Parallels Desktop. When opening the DMG file that includes the installer, I get this message:

Parallels Desktop can be installed from a disk image only.
Please open the Parallels Desktop DMG file and try again.

I have re-downloaded the DMG from Parallel's website, and the same thing happens. Can anyone confirm if this happened to them? I did a clean install of Sierra, and I'm really hoping I can still use Parallels 9.

Thanks! See attached below.

I was told that only Parallels versions 11 or 12 were compatible with Sierra and older versions wouldn't even install.
You can check with Parallels for compatibility.

Sierra is not showing my Mac pro 5,1 system info correctly. Total ram is only 2GB instead of 64GB, 3.32 GHz unknown for cpu, gpu is "Display 3 mb" instead of GTX670 with 4GB ram...doesn't see my wireless card, no wifi
