I can't believe I can't do this.

I purchased Parallels and tried to install it today. I can't do it! It says it downloaded after I hit "install" and followed all the prompts but it never asked for the activation kay and now can't be found in finder.

HELP! Is there something I am missing? I am quite sure it is something simple

I looked online for "installing Parallels 7" but I can only find out how to install Windows 7, which I can't do until I can get this Parallels working!

THANK YOU in advance!

Dawn

I have done all of the installing according to the instructions. It has gone through the download process, which took several minutes. Is that what your mean?

I have installed several programs before and never had this issue.

I have gone to the applications folder and finder and it only shows the icon to download it again. The actual program is not there.

I have no clue what spotlight is.

Have you followed the steps here?
Installing Applications in Mac OS X

Have you ever installed an application with an installer?

Have you looked inside your Applications folder (CMD+SHIFT+A while in Finder)?
Have you used Spotlight (CMD+SPACEBAR) yet to search for it?

Downloading ≠ installing.
Have you installed the application or have you downloaded it?

I have installed several programs before and never had this issue.
But something is wrong here.
Where did you download Parallels and what Mac OS X version do you use and what browser do you use?

Can you make a screenshot and attach it to your next post?

I have no clue what spotlight is.
It is a system wide search tool, triggered by CMD+SPACEBAR.

Sorry, I am just coming back here. I don't remember now what the issue was.

Sometimes I think I shouldn't be allowed to have a computer! I am just not computer savvy. But when they work the way I want them to I need them.
