Parallels keeps opening on Mac start-up

Parallels keeps running when my Mac restarts even though in Parallels this option is turned off and Parallels is not in my Mac's user accounts login items.

How can I stop it from happening?

What is activated in Login Items? Maybe one of those apps is opening Parallels?

Any aliases? Just wondering if the default app for some file type got set to Parrallels somehow.

Use VMware fusion instead.

Seriously, I persisted with the train-wreck that is parallels for far too long. I twitch a lot less now...
