Parallels has done this for at least a year now.

Are the rest of your Fusion "wins" as outdated and incorrect? (I don't know. I've bought Parallels last year when there was no Fusion, and have since paid no attention to Fusion.)

There are a number of comparison threads, many users testing both point to Fusion as better. VMWare has been doing virtualization for years, Parallels is the newcomer to the game.

I feel that I need to run office because of compatability issues with papers and projects I will do for college.

I ran fusion for office. It wasn't too bad. And this is with 2gb ram. There was some sluggishness and I got kind of tired of running fusion so I got microsoft office 2008 for mac instead. Much better.

But I was in the same boat. Fusion was important because I had some windows only programs for school. If it is just word, you should be fine with 2008.

Why spend the extra money on Paralles or VVMVare? Why not just use bootcamp for games, and iWork for office stuff. If you don't like Safari, use firefox. Much better than IE7.

Edit:

I just re-read your other posts. iWork is fully compatible with office. You just need to export it as a .doc. That's what I do. Save everything as .pages until I am finished. Then, it gets exported as .doc sent to a professor and archived on the external.

So how do you get parallels to boot your bootcamp partition? Fusion just fires up and recognizes it as a machine to 'boot'.

As far as the rest, I know Parallels still doesn't support two processors(or cores) in a VM.

Also FWIW Blackberry's software crashes my Parallels VM where Fusion happily runs along with it. There's something wonky with Parallels USB setup.

More questions...
1) I decided on windows XP Home. Should I buy OEM or retail on eBay? I see some OEM copies going for ~$90 (is that a good price?)
2) I will be buying Fusion also. How should I install windows? Should I make a boot camp partition first and then install fusion or should I install windows with fusion?
3) If I install windows with fusion, will I be able to boot into windows solely through boot camp if I need to?
4) Is upgrading my ram to 4gb worthwhile for using Fusion?
Thanks

1) It doesn't matter which you get.

2) You have to install via bootcamp first.

3) No

4) Upgrading Ram is worthwhile for everything.

Parallels also does something wonky with network drivers. Some VPN software for Windows won't work right under Parallels, but works fine under Fusion.
