I'm really not happy with Parallels' pricing, but VMware is still behind. I detailed it here

Has anyone else tried to download a VMware product since the Broadcom website change?

I tried on Wednesday night (as a paying customer with licenses for both Fusion Pro and Workstation Pro)

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Lets just say that after an hour with auto-update not broken and trying to download a standalone installer to fix, I ended up with a prompt that my account needed to be validated and to "try again in some time".

As a paying customer since Workstation 1.0 also responsible for three vSphere datacenter deployments - Screw VMware.

That is a known issue at present (look on the Fusion Community forum). I had the same (a week or so ago), but there was no problem updating my existing Fusion 13.5.1 to 13.5.2. I haven't looked again but there was link to a download of 13.5.2. Whilst there are some problems with the transition to Broadcom it is worth keeping an eye on the Community forum get workarounds.

I assume such deployments are getting priority over desktop products like Fusion during the transition.

One would hope they are prioritising vSphere deployments as licensing has gone from perpetual to yearly sub with 2-10x cost increase depending on your specific circumstances. Our licensing cost bump was about 6x

Needless to say i am migrating to Hyper-V.

The new owners single handily destroyed the goodwill and desire to learn and use Vmware. They've been backtracking on their recent licensing moves, but for companies starting out, need virtual servers, Vmware is not going to be on their short list. People/hobbyists/prosumers may very well move off regardless of their making some of the products free for home user.

Even before these licensing changes, I would say Parallels was a superior product over what Vmware offered. I used promote and use Fusion, but Parallels updates their product more consistently, timely and offers superior options and performance. For Macs, Particularly for ARM based Macs, I think its a no brainer to use Parallels.

Last I checked, the links are on boardrooms site, but they're not searchable, you have to just happen to know the link (which tells me they're doing a halfa$$ job of merging VMware into their site).

You're also not the only person I've seen not getting the registration email. I was one of the first people to jump on it when it was announced, but I think they got hit with a lot of requests, and probably overloaded their system.

I bookmarked Fusion here, but you'll still need the Broadcom account to get there. When I go into my account, go to the Fusion bookmark, then hit the back arrow on the site, to go to all of VMware's products, it just goes blank or gives me a 404 error.

I think I found it, not sure if you can get to it without signing in: https://www.vmware.com/products.htm...3E*MTcxNjY0ODk2MC4xLjEuMTcxNjY0ODk4MC4wLjAuMA..
