Seems like a poor deal compared to, say, Disney+.

The irony is that this proliferation of streaming services will probably lead to more market concentration. Who's gonna pay for all of Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Discovery+, Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix, Paramount+, and Peacock? (And Hulu, maybe.)

Probably not a lot of people. But if a few of those merge…
Yeah the market will adjust. Right now it's inflating and when it makes financial sense for businesses to team up for packages to compete, then that will happen.

CBS All Access is the one service honestly I use more than I thought I would. I always have Netflix but honestly T-Mobile has been paying most of that bill for awhile. I have Apple TV Plus but again, I have yet to pay for it. The only service I am thinking of adding is Disney Plus where I will purchase the year prior to March 1.

I only use the network for Star Trek Discovery, Picard and the upcoming Strange New Worlds. Everything else can be recorded from the local CBS feed.

As a few others have noted, please remember that Paramount+ is CBS All Access re-branded (with more Paramount content added). Your CBS subscription automatically becomes Paramount+. I don't think you have to do anything except maybe download a different/new app to watch. Otherwise it all just "rolls over" into Paramount+. And, as noted, prior to March 4th (next Thursday, one week from today) you have the option of paying $30/year (ads included) or $50/year (ad-free, save for a small # of shows) for this new service. It's half off the $60 or $100 per year. I did the $50. Works out to $4.17/month.

They are making it harder to save $$ by cutting the cord. The best value in cutting the cord was 5+ years ago before every network started splintering off and forming their own streaming service. Back then it was Netflix & maybe Hulu. Netflix had tons of content from all networks plus their own original content. Hulu had everything else (current shows from CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX). Then Hulu lost most CBS. I'm sure they'll lose the others eventually. It seems Hulu is going with lots of older/classic shows now.

I think to save $$ going forward you'll have to "share" memberships with friends/and family. Thankfully you can do that. I pay for Netflix, Hulu, and now CBS All Access/Paramount+ (I'll probably drop Hulu soon and pick it up a month at a time here or there to watch things like "Nomadland"). Sister pays for HBO Max, Showtime Anytime, and Starz. Then we share logins/profiles, essentially cutting the bills in half. Apple+ is free for the next year due to buying an Apple product and Disney+ is included with my Verizon bill (as is commercial Hulu, but I can't stand commercials).

I still buy faves on iTunes/Amazon/Vudu. I prefer to own movies on Apple/iTunes and shows on Amazon due to Apple make the stupid decision to not allow autoplay of the next episode (unless you put all of the episodes into a playlist or something). Most studios belonging to Movies Anywhere is nice too, as buying a movie in iTunes automatically adds the movie to Amazon & Vudu too.

Other than the $30 I just paid for the full year, I have always gotten CBS All-Access for free as they send me promo codes for a free month every now and then. That way I just binge the shows I want in the month span, then cancel. Although with CL and EL matches, I didn't mind paying the $30 for the full year.

Typically, we only keep Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Disney+ and Amazon year round. We're fortunate enough that my company pays 90% of our internet bill due to me working remote. Netflix and HBO Max I basically get for free since I use iTunes billing and get gift cards for throughout the year. So we're really only paying for Hulu + Live TV and Disney+ (Amazon is mainly used for Prime shipping and we pay that once a year).

Yup, this has been the #1 Topic in our home the past few months with our budget as this is the only way my wife will see Yellowston Season 4. The pressure is intense. Negotiations are at a standstill currently..............
Before it was who had the remote control...

I'm never watching more than 1–2 shows at once. So these subscription services for me are constantly interchangeable. When Picard S2 comes out, I'll add the channel once all the episodes are out, watch the show over a couple of weeks, then unsubscribe in favor of another service, do the same, and so on... I view these services as a constantly revolving menu, not a pile-up of channels.

What I really would like is to be able to buy individual series and movies that I find interesting from each company. Is that too much to ask for? I will not watch these series and movies until I can build my own library. Why is choice only limited to the DVD/Blueray market? Is this called progress?

im still surprised people pay 100$ a month for cable or directv and there's 5 minute commercials every 30 minutes. I cant deal with commercials anymore they literally drive me insane.
Theres too may pay for Services that need to just die. Everybody is trying to get in on that subscription based life that consumers hate.
IF one company could do it all for 50$ a month with no ads then that would be something but having them all scattered all over the place will never work.
Only thing I pay for now is YouTube premium because there is a ton of content constantly updated. I get my shows and movies in other ways.

me too, so far. But there is a bunch of new content that looks like it may be interesting.

I'm interested to see their Live News & Live Sports components.

Both sets them apart from the others in their space.

Would like to see the add a third component, "Live Tech News," if at all possible, where their Tech Experts discuss the latest & greatest Tech News of the day OR week.

Its still better than cable. Like im glad i dont have to give disney a dime just to have a basic service so i can pay extra for hbo. I dont need to have those creepy religious networks either or country music tv.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but you can buy most shows and movies on iTunes or Amazon Video.

I cancelled my netflix and only download illegally using bittorrent these days. why pay all these BS companies when you can download blu ray 1080p and 4k content for free. F these companies.
Because it's stealing and stealing is morally wrong and illegal... 🤷‍♂

Regulate what? Is there some sort of collusion going on between these streaming services no one is required to subscribe to that I'm not aware of?
Didn't you know that if we don't get exactly what we want from a company we demand that the government make them give it to us? It's the new American Way. Sadly.

We still can’t just buy the topics we want from all the studios.
Hey YOU... that’s an awesome idea. I want that like yesterday. Start a service... called “TopPicks” maybe, that gets the content from everyone and charges me per topic :) I know that the selection of “topics” will have to be limited, but I’m willing to deal with that!

geeezus can't wait for this offer:
$4.99 per month with ads in the U.S

         paying for ads weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I would subscribe to the new CBS/Paramount streaming service if CBS Access did not destroy the legacy of Star Trek franchise. STD and ST:picard took down all the original franchise movies and TV shows before it. It is a terrible thing CBS Access did to wreck the Trek franchise.
