my friend is getting rid of her 5 year old Epson all in one and was curious if scans could be saved to the printer by mistake. I thought no but promised to check for her. Thanks.
I suppose some could; your friend will have to check the specifications of her particular device. Does the scanner's software give options to read/write data to/from the device?
I'm unfamiliar with the brand you've listed above.

Whoops. That's a typo, its an epson. I'll ask her to check. I could check mine, too, I also have an epson. I told her just to smash it since she was going to throw it away anyway.

There is no way to purposely scan it onto the device, she's so paranoid, she wanted to know if it was possible that it does that without her knowing. I promised to ask on what she calls my "nerd forum" so I did. 😉
Both good recommendations but I don't think she will do that. She's a little on the cray-cray side when it comes to privacy. I'd like to open it up just to see it for myself.
