Children!!!! Be nice.

Back to the original topic - I have worked with my 83 yr old mother of things. Biggest issue is getting her to understand the very BASICS. The home button o the ipad is a challenge.

Next time I try to teach this stuff, I will send a picture with arrows.

Both my parents are a nightmare with technology. Everything e my dad is about to upgrade I tell him to get an iPhone. Then he comes away from the shop with something else. Then he calls me up and asks me how to do stuff! I've never owned a blackberry or whatever, but I still end up being his tech support. He is 67.

My mum bought a tablet (don't even ask me the make) after I advised her to spend the extra and get the iPad or iPad mini. She hasn't got a clue what to do on it. I set her up a Skype account in the summer. How many calls hav we managed. None!

To the OP, well done in getting it sorted.

I just wish there was a way to bring this thread back when the OP and others who have commented are senior citizens and their kids/grand kids are rolling their eyes that they can't operate the mind controlled hologram in the house. ;)

My dad used to be on the cutting edge of technology. We always had the best component stereo setup in the neighborhood. He was in on the ground floor with home PC's. even when he retired, he owned a side business fixing PC's.

Then all of a sudden it was like it all left him. As new stuff came up, it seemed to beyond his comprehension. It was around the time the original iPhone came out and he couldn't work it to save his life.

The last few years of his life I spent being his 'tech support.' I jokingly asked 'what happened to you.' He laughed and said getting old is bi€th....':D

I think the problem with growing old is you can't remember new stuff anymore. Like you could spend hours teaching grandma where the home button is, then the next day you go, "Push the home button," and she'll be like "Where is that?"
