Also forgot to ask, how do i partition a hard disk, using mac os 9?

You'll need to boot from a Mac OS 9 CD, then open up the Utilities Folder, then look for something called Drive Setup. Its there, that you can partition a HD in OS 9.

Holding down ⌘+ALT until the 2nd chime should boot into OS9? 🙂

You need to put an OS on it to make it bootable. It won't boot to from the partition if there's nothing to boot from.
