I have a 1TB as a boot drive. and a 2nd 1TB hard drive for storage, I partitioned that drive in 1/2 500 for just storage and 500 for time machine... If I use both partitions simultaneously will it affect it in any bad way? could it damage any reading or writing being done?

----------

I know this maybe a silly question for all of you but I've never been able to get all the facts on partitioning so any help would be grateful thanks!

It won't physically damage anything to split 1 physical drive into several partitions.

The only thing that it will 'hurt' is performance when you try to write to both partitions at the same time.

I say go for it and don't worry.
