Hi,

I need to partition the Hard Drive on my G5 2.5 without erasing it. I'm running the latest OSX, can someone recommend a DOWNLOADABLE application that will allow me to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Andy.

I'm not sure you can do that, but I may be wrong..

If you have a second HD (internal or external) you can always clone the drive with CarbonCopyCloner, partition it, and clone it back again.

There are 2 applications that can do this, both are downloadable, neither is free...

iPartition
VolumeWorks

However, I STRONGLY urge you to back up ALL your data before doing this. Playing with the partition map on the fly is not advisable. If something goes wrong the and partition map gets corrupted, you can kiss all your data good bye. Then you're spening $ for data recovery. So if you back everything up, the SAFE way to partition is to erase the disk and repartition it using Disk Utility off your Installer CD/DVD (or booted from another volume).
