I've just retired an 8600 that's been collecting dust; just booted it up to verify that the HDDs are adequately wiped.

What's available:

8600 motherboard ... has the VRAM, Cache and (6 x 32MB) RAM

+CPU daughterboard (will also fit the 7500/etc) ... NewerTech's MaxPower G4 (233MHz, if I recall correctly)

+NuBus USB/FW400 card (OrangeMicro)

+NuBus SCSI Card - Adaptec PowerDomain 29160N (Ultra SCSI)

+Hard Drives:
- 1.2GB Quantum Fireball (fits normal internal SCSI)
- 17?GB Seagate Barracuda ST318275LW (fits 68pin Ultra SCSI card, above)

+Hard Drive sleds (2 stock, +1 slightly modified, to put 3HDDs into an 8600)

+Nikon Scan LS1000 35mm slide scanner

+other Misc Stuff (e.g., SCSI cables)

Asking price: buyer pays shipping, +$5/item for boxing.

Actually, the second, if by logic board design. (sorry 'bout that)

;)

Or if you mean by PCI spec, the first.

I was thinking more so about PCI Spec, although you're right: the 8500 predated the 8600, as did also the 7xxx and 9xxx series. Offhand, I don't recall there really being any profound differences - - just faster CPUs.

In any case ... this pile of stuff

8600 motherboard
+ 32MB memory modules (6) populating the above
+ VRAM modules (2) populating the above
+ Cache card module (1) populating the above
+ PowerPC 604 (233MHz?) CPU daughterboard

SCSI HDDs
- Std (found a second one!)
- fast SCSI 18GB (2)

Fast SCSI Card (Adaptec Ultra 160 PowerDomain 29160N .. w/drivers CD)

USB/FW400 PCI Card (Orange Micro)

plus other stuff

save it from the recylcing yard's crusher ... GOING ONCE ...
