Hi,

if I have enabled a pass code on my iPhone. But if I want to turn off the phone, I can turn it off without to enter pass code? Where is the point? So If I have enabled "Find my iPhone" and my phone is stolen and thief turns off the phone... I cant use this app. If pass code would be required when you turn off the phone then maybe you have more time to track the phone? I have also reported a "bug" to apple but did not get any answer until now.

What do you think about that? Is this OK or not?

Regards

This topic is as old as Find My iPhone.

Yes a "thief" can turn off the phone, or take out the SIM and Find my iP** wont find squat.

They can then restore the device once they get home and it will be gone forever.

This is true, but still I think that if the pass code is set, you would be forced to enter it if you want to turn off the phone.

The passcode is not designed to prevent access to the phone, only impede it. The actual purpose of the passcode is to protect your data.
