I am curious to know why Apple did not include Passbook app on the iPad? and also does any developers have any testsbeds that they would like to share?

Probably because, to me at least, it's more logical to have boarding passes, coupons, loyalty cards, etc on the device you have with your in your pocket daily. Plus, scanning an iPhone over an iPad is way easier.

^ this. Plus it might be difficult with a device so large to scan barcodes with. Can you imagine someone bringing their iPad to a movie theater, lol.

But I think they should have it on the iPad as well. For instance when your in the airport you usually have your iPad so you can check in and get updates on it. I know it's more convient to have it on your iPhone but it's also a nice feature to have on the iPad

Like some have mentioned it's all about size. Just my opinion but I agree with them. It won't hurt Apple to put on the iPad though.

Did we get Cards on the iPad? Clock? Stocks? Weather? No. iPad is red headed step child.

clocks on the way wahooo. but yeah i feel ya. there is no reason for apple to put stuff on the ipad and let the people choose what they want.

Don't need to imagine that. Many idiots out there – ruined the movie for me.

so then what? i opened this with safari on ios6 and it gives me a file to open, but no way to open it...

Did it say could not open file or was it not tappable? Or did you get a black screen? Try it again…we may have been updating the site. If you still have problems, don't hesitate to email.

I have a testbed site I'm working on that will allow you to generate some passes to test.

shoot me an email.

thanks gujamin, really nice, sent you an email.

Now here is a silly question for everybody...wouldn't it be possible with Apple's PKPass library, to build an iPad pass app?

What about a custom iPHone pass app, for people who want to add goodies that Apple's starter app doesn't have?

Does this make any sense?

You might be able to replicate a lot of the functionality but Apple would almost certainly reject it.

iPhone has Passbook because it can store your credit cards and use NFC on the next iPhone but the iPad won't?

Oh...mmmmm. I was under the impression (and likely mistaken of course) that that apple intended for 3rd parties to go wild and build any kind of pass apps they wanted.

That's what I thought when I saw the PKPass methods for "displaying a pass"
