Finally downloaded iOS7 on iPhone 4, updated, rebooted and welcome screen comes up and Hello "slide to set up" takes me to "Enter Passcode"
but my long-standing passcode (4 character I used in iOS6 right?) is rejected, over and over until phone is locked out! After a while can try again...even apple store password rejected...
what exactly IS supposed to be entered here?

Are you restoring from a backup? It could be an older passcode? Otherwise maybe restore and try again?

I had a minor issue when I first went into the App Store where it wouldn't accept my password after 3 tries it finally did but I thought maybe I just typed it in wrong.

not restoring - installing iOS7

I am not clear on what you said - I am not restoring art all, not yet anyway - I am in middle (or rather end) of iOS7 install on iPhone 4 - just before the process I backed up/synched to my macbook so I have a good backup - so after 7 install (total about 3 hours) iPhone "Hello" screen comes up in all it's new look glory and slide and enter passcode comes up - I know that passcode I used in iOS6 by heart - and it doesn't work - apple store password won't work either to proceed with new setup...is this a swamped server issue? Thanks
