Password doesn't work after Win 10 1709 update

I have two virtual machines with Windows 10 running under Parallels 11. The last update, Fall 1709, causes nothing but problems. It takes hours to install and failed two times on the virtual machine that was located on a hard disk. After shutting down I can't login anymore. My password is rejected although it is correct. I checked the keyboard settings. On one virtual machine I can revert to the previous snapshot and then it works until I shut down my computer. But upon reboot I have the same problem.
How can I restore my password?

how do you login?

local account or microsoft account?

My user name (local account)

microsoft account can change password online then if machine online it will update.

local account there is complex tool, our engineer at work done it couple times but from what I gather not easy in 8 and 10.

Local accounts can have password reset.
Sorry I do not know the tool as I work retail side at work not repairs.
