So this is probably a newbie type question, but I can't set a password for my wireless network. I have been through the network preferences countless times and gave up.

Hoping someone here can give me a tip on how to set up a password for my wireless network so no one piggybacks on it. I have the regular macbook and just plug and unplug it from the ethernet depending on where I am in the house.

any ideas??

Normally you set your wireless network password thought your router's administration page. What brand/model of router do you have? Go to your router's admin page (probably http://192.168.1.1), log in, then there should be a menu for "Wireless Settings" or something similar. Select a type of encryption (WPA2 is suggested) then set the password.
