Does anyone know any good software that will password lock a text file for Leopard?

I REALLY NEED ONE OMGZ.😕 I've looked everywhere.

Create an encrypted disk image in DiskUtility and copy the file there.

Text files are the most basic type of file, and cannot have any special protections in it on its own. You have to place the file in a container of some sort (ZIP file, disk image, etc) that supports password protection.

I agree. This is what I do for my "protected" files and works fine.

Great minds think alike. 😉

I just thought of another option.

KeyChain allows you to store text that would be protected inside the chain itself, so if this is not a file you want to share, and just want to hide the text context, you can put it in KeyChain.
