password locked

bought a 8gb iphone off craigslist and it is locked with a password.the person i got it from wont answer my calls and it looks like it got burned..is there anyway it can be unlocked?

Try restoring it, and although I am not sure how Craigslist works, try reporting him or something, it won't get you far, but it might help other people in the future. How much did he scam you for?

$300 probally found it..i tunes keeps asking for a password.can i do anything else

try putting it in restore mode
turn it off, and hold the home and power buttons when turning it on, as soon as the apple logo shows let go of the power button but continue holding the home button
eventually you should see a connect to itunes message then try to restore

when you say its asking for a password, do you mean the iphone is asking for the 4 digit pin to unlock? or your computer is asking for a password like your apple id? (your apple id may just be for your itunes purchases).

Try DFU mode

that should force you to restore.
try putting your sim card in. if there was a sim in it it might be pin locked
