Hello all, I am new to this forum my name is Andrew and I do hope that
somebody here can help.

I had a full reinstall of my OS done, Then a time machine back-up was applied
this was done at a Apple store.

Now I cannot install any updates or any software because the pass word
I gave them to use is not working and will not allow me access.

It was suggested to reinstall my OS

So, I put in my install disk
clicked on Install Mac OS X and Bundled software

I clicked on that and got the password screen
I entered the password but already knew that I would
not get access.

So how do I fix this password problem if I cannot even reinstall the OS.

Thanks in advance

Andrew

You can reset the password from the OS install toolbar (when you boot from the install disk). I can't remember which column it was under off the top of my head, but its in the toolbar at the top.

With the Install disc in the Mac, reboot, and after the startup tone immediately hold down the "c" key on the Keyboard and it should boot from the optical drive. Then you can reset the password or whatever else you need to do.
