password protected files missing in recents list

something peculiar to iPadOS 18 not iOS 18, is that when I open password protected files in Numbers or Pages they are lost from the recent list next time I go in. If I forced close the app and then reopen the file magically appears in the recent list again I would be interested if anyone else's found this.

Does it to some unprotected files too.
