Is there a way to password protect a Numbers file and have it secure enough to protect a spreadsheet filled with passwords?

Numbers has a password feature, but I have no idea how secure it is.

What I would do is create a secure disk image (instructions at the link), then keep the file inside that encrypted disk image. That I know is secure.
