I have been using 1Password for years and want to switch to Mac OS passwords. I just opened it up and see tons of passwords already in the program. Some of these passwords I have not used for years so I do not think they got there by me choosing to save them when entering them into the browser.

1. Is there any way that they were somehow auto copied/imported from 1Password?

2. If I export the file from 1 password and there are duplicates how will it resolve it? Will it prompt me or just leave the duplicate or overwrite the ones in 1Password?

Thanks

Nothing will be replaced.

If you have any passkeys in 1Password, and if you have an iPhone that syncs iCloud Keychain, I strongly suggest using the iPhone to export from 1Password into the Passwords app, as it will also export the passkeys. You cannot export passkeys from 1Password on the Mac. See https://support.1password.com/export/?ios (click on the "iOS" tab.)

If you have any data in 1Passwords that is not a password (secure notes, software licenses, etc.), the application Uplock is very nice - you can export (on the Mac) from 1Password and it will import all of the non-password data. If you need to sync via iCloud to other platforms, it's a $15/year subscription, otherwise it's free.

I just tried this and when I got to advanced there is not an export option.

Note if you have non-passwords stored if 1password they won’t be exported since Apple uses multiple apps to manage secure data. I use 1password to manage credit cards, financial account numbers, license, secure notes, medical cards, 1 time codes, and personal data.

It does require iOS 26, if that wasn't clear from the 1Password post.

I did this myself a few weeks ago. As for the existing data in Password, I went through each of them and deleted them if they matched the data in my 1Passwords record, then did the export from 1P to Passwords.

Here is what I see in "Advanced".

I am using 1Password version 7.10.2 on my phone. Which version are you using? According to info that I just found, there is no export option on the phone. https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/there-is-no-export-option-please-help/161667

1Password version 8, the latest release. I thought that was a given as well as being on the latest iOS release.

Pay for a month subscription, upgrade your 1P account to 8, and then you'll be able to do this and cancel the subscription after you are done.
