Ahhh, schadenfreude....

Apple just keeps giving reasons not to buy another Mac. <snip>

- Huge security flaws left unfixed for weeks or months at a time.

There used to be reasons to pay a premium for Macs, but clearly there aren't any more.
I do find merit in all your points, with special concern for security.

Worse, is the fact that Apple doesn't communicate with their user base. If only they'd acknowledge there's an issue & they're working on it, that would be safe for them, and we'd be kept in the loop.

No specifics would be disclosed so Apple would still be keeping things confidential, a position most users would understand. A little communication goes a long way.

It's a common courtesy that even Microsoft shows their users.

Apple has no conscious & knows no shame. Just as long as they are awash in cash, their happy & content.

Awash in cash - for now.....

This happens 1 in what? 10.000.000 ? To few information to take it seriously

I don't think that's really the point though, is it?

The number of users affected is just a matter of luck. This points to a serious problem with Apple's QA procedures.

The only thing I can think to say in their favour is that this time it was just a mistake. The Java thing was almost wilful negligence.

Nope, my mistake. This has been a know problem since February. Guess it depends on whether an official bug report was filed with Apple.
