Password stops working on lockscreen

Sometimes when I lock my laptop and come back, my password no longer works to log back in. It just keeps saying the password is incorrect. I try putting it to sleep, opening and closing the lid- nothing.

But then i press the restart icon on the lockscreen and my screen becomes a light gray. I close and open the lid and the lockscreen appears again and my password works.

Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds fishy. Do you use the same password on iCloud or any other web service? Did you check your iCloud password at Apple - My Apple ID?

Maybe you should consider changing your password if you think a family member or someone is messing with you.
