Some courts have adopted this scientific view of what should constitute “cocaine base” and held that “cocaine base” applies to all forms of cocaine that are chemically basic (i.e., not acidic or neutral), and the sentence for “cocaine, its salts, optical and geometric isomers, and salts of isomers” imposed by 21 U.S.C. § 841(b)(1)(A)(ii)(II) only applies to cocaine hydrochloride (cocaine salt). See United States v. Barbarosa, 271 F.3d 438, 461-67 (3d Cir. 2001); United States v. Butler, 988 F.2d 537, 542-43 (5th Cir.1993); United States v. Jackson, 968 F.2d 158, 161-63 (2d Cir.1992). This Court should refuse to take that position. As stated in United States v. Brisbane, 367 F.3d 910 (D.C. Cir. 2004),

Since cocaine hydrochloride is a salt, it is covered by subsection (ii)'s reference to “its salts.” Unless the word “cocaine” in subsection (ii) has no meaning of its own, it must refer to cocaine in its natural form - cocaine base. If the words in subsection (ii) carry their ordinary scientific meaning, the statute is unquestionably ambiguous.​

Hablo Espanol (with the funny n) means "I speak Spanish". You will look good to bring that up...

My 16 year old has a job with a realtor doing ad's and maintaining their website - which has the phrase "Se Habla Espanol" under an agents picture. He sent me an email last night stating that he thought it was wrong. I F'd my first attempt at a reply, so I copied and pasted a couple hours ago...

For the record, "se habla Español" is correct. It basically means that Spanish is spoken there, not that any one person in particular speaks Spanish.

It was about a hour or so after logging in. I often don't copy and paste for a while usually option dragging or just retyping.

It was just a formula in Excel - looking to calculate the number of weekdays between two provided dates (no Saturday/Sunday). I don't get as many opportunities to play with formulas as I used to, so I usually end up with huge workarounds :eek:
