Hi,

Is there a way to pause the video without the screen dimming and the preview window coming up?

We often want to pause to look at something on screen and the dimming and preview window make it hard to see.

I'm happy to have the preview window when scrubbing through.

Thanks

This annoys me as well. There are, of course, two entirely separate reasons for pausing. One is the one Apple has recognized, which is simply to interrupt the video, perhaps for a snack break. The other is to study a single frame of the video, which people also do all the time. Having a preview window on the screen when pausing for that reason is just terrible.

Here's what Apple should do: Have the preview window pop up on a pause, just as it does now. However, if the user does a certain gesture (i.e., a swipe-up) or if the video is paused more than a second, the preview window should fade away. Once the user is scrubbing, it can come back (as it actually is quite useful and nice in that situation).

Very annoying. I hate the screen dimming & the preview window as well while on pause. As bluespark alluded to i also
like it while scrubbing

Yeah this is pretty bad. I like the look of tvOS, but the way things work could use some common sense tweaking
