my week 29 macbook is absolutely perfect, but starting yesterday, when i boot up, it stays black for about 20 seconds before turning on (when before it did so almost immediately).

is there anything wrong, or something I can do about it to "fix" it? It's not a big deal and it runs perfectly once it has booted up, it's just the initial part that...stalls or something?

Hmm... Maybe open up Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and Verify the Disk (not the Disk Permissions). Tell us if it reports back with an error. :)

I had this happen to me. I have XP installed also using Bootcamp and even though I chose for OS X to be the default startup disk I decided to go into System Preferences and select OS X again. That worked. I guess somehow the XP partition had a minor effect there somewhere.
