I've been doing this for a year and every time people look at me like I'm crazy. Just trying to push everything towards integrating the phone and the wallet. I think until Apple adds NFC most retailers aren't going to follow suit. I'm ready for it!

In a house...duh!
I've used the Starbucks iPhone apps lots of times and think it is great. I too would like to see more options to "pay with my iPhone".

Feels a little weird....and cool at the same time.

They won't take it at the drive thru for me. A Liability issue they said.

Fair enough. Too much hassle for them in case of damage to your phone.

I love this app.
It's neat how easy it is to stock it up with funds from Paypal. Careful though. It is near effortless to accidentally scan twice thus taking out double what your coffee cost.

Will have to give this a try. I know there is another app somewhere that holds all your cards for different grocery stores too.

I use Key Ring. Loads up your coupons too. Love it. Especially since we had tons of those damn key ring things that I refused to carry. I even keep my hotel reward cars on there.

My wife has been paying at Starbucks with her iPhone for almost a year now. They all seem to be used to it.

But it only seems to be Starbucks where this is "normal," as far as I can tell.

I second Key Ring; it's one of my most essential apps. I was so happy to throw all those cards away!

I haven't tried the pay-with-card option yet, I like flashing around my Starbucks Hawaii card too much. :) I love the app for loading my card and keeping track of my balance and stars, though.

Will check out Key Ring and CardStar apps, though, I hate carrying around all those store cards. I like a minimal keyring (just my car fob and two house keys on it), and the cards bulk up my wallet so much.

I thought I read awhile back (when iP4 came out, I think) that some Japanese have resisted getting iPhones solely based on the fact that it didn't support more pay-with-card options, as many of them already use their phones to pay for things.

I use Starbucks all the time. Nice to just load up the card with $25 or so and hit the road. I expense most everything for work anyway so all I do is use my phone, take a photo of the receipt and away I go. Once I get through with the day, I just upload the pics to our expense system website and viola, money is back to my checking acct.

Even Chase is advertising depositing checks this way and paying bills and even your friends with a smartphone. It's coming fast and I bet by next Christmas, it will be mainstream.

USAA Federal Savings Bank has been allowing its members to take pictures of their checks for deposit for at least 2 years now in their IOS app. Literally from snapping the picture of the front and back of the check to the money being in your account is less than a minute.

I saw someone do it once... the girl next to him was very impressed, not sure why (some blonde). Anyways, I like the concept but I hate having to re-fill my card every time to do it. If it were directly linked to my bank account, I wouldn't mind.

I like the concept of impressing a blonde through the simple act of geek-hood and paying for coffee with my phone :D Just don't tell my wife

People still turn heads when I TAP my wallet (PayPass Mastercard) instead of swipe at places with a PayPass reader.

I love my Starbucks card though being at Starbucks is frowned upon on where I'm from.

It is easy and convenient to use.

I wish credit card companies can follow suit.

Fair enough. Too much hassle for them in case of damage to your phone.

The drive thru I've used it at has a scanner that reaches out the window. I just hold my phone up for them.
