Hey, I just received an email in the middle of the night by Apple stating that they didn’t receive my payment for the nMP.. it’s odd, as the credit card definitely shows enough balance for the purchase. Any ideas what could cause this?
Gives me baaaaad memories of The 2013 payment process with PayPal canceling my order when they weren’t charged after 4 weeks..

I was recently declined when I attempted to open a new credit card. Problem ended up being I have a freeze on my credit report (due to one of those data breaches). Not the exact same situation but a possible reason?

Edit: Also ordered some whiskey and received a notification from my bank requesting confirmation. Perhaps fraud control had something to do with it?

Did you allow for sales tax? Card may have a hold on it for a different purchase that hasn't processed yet. Call your issuer and verify problem.

Hm yea I have 12500€ on that card and the Mac cost “only” 11500.. I didn’t use it for anything else. Strange. Have to wait till the morning

My bank contacts me when any unusual sizeable transaction happens and I respond to their text with a Y or N. It's a good thing for them to be doing because CC fraud is so rampant.

Ah do you think they maybe even though they raised my limit, some sort of security measure kicked in.. let’s hope a simple phone call can resolve it.

things about this order have been odd, after placing it for the first time, another Apple rep called me from the local store and asked to cancel and set it up again but through their system for some reason, so that it’s really ranking me up to the business, 6% off rank.
It was super strange, but I double checked and that person was legit, I even had several phone calls with him. Still strange, I suspect something might have gone wrong during that procedure...

Yeah I had the same thing fraud prevention. Answered 1 for yes allow. Apple tried again 5 hours later and it went through.

Always good to notify your financial institution before making a large purchase. I did that before I bought this Mac Pro.
Good to know- yea well since I had them raise the limit by 10.000€ I assumed they were aware what was coming. Sigh

Well- yea the bank had a limit at 7000 and I had to activate it via phone call. I called Apple to tell them to try again but they said it’s gonna happen automatically within the next 7 days... but now when I click on the link in my order confirmation mail, I get a “unable to connect to server” message and the order also doesn’t show up in my account (never did, somehow because I ordered through business... super strange...)

I ordered with my (UK) business card on release, had an email from Apple saying there had been a payment issue.

Phoned up my bank and ran through some security stuff and I then had to go back to my online apple store account and resubmit the Payment with the same card. It now seems to have worked and the payment is showing as pending in my bank account (which it was not before).

Apple business you can pay via ACH (bank transfer). I'd just call your account manager and transfer the funds from your account.

Hm, apparently the money got authorized now, even though I dont see it anywhere, but ok, gotta trust the guys on the phone.

If I have a delivery date 2nd-8th of January - do you think I‘ll still get the invoice during this year?

they charge when shipped, so unless they ship faster than quoted (which is usually the case), then no, it charge you on shipment
