One of my writing clients reports that Paypal won't accept his payment. (I had emailed him a Paypal invoice so he could pay by credit card.) I'd like to troubleshoot this for him (and for me) if possible.

What might be the issues? All I can think of offhand:

1. Perhaps he's required to set up a Paypal account and doesn't realize it? But I think Paypal would have instructed him....

2. Perhaps his card is maxed out or the wrong type? But wouldn't Paypal then tell him that?

3. ???

4. PROFIT!

Any advice from Paypal veterans is much appreciated.

one of my clients is having the same problem. She said paypal told her her account was compromised, which was bs. she couldn't even pay by echeck. I use paypal as a convenience for my clients and myself, but it isn't cheap and if this happens again I will drop them like a bad habit.
