PB Memory slot problem - does a 2gb chip exist?

My 2004 PB 1.5 has recently lost it's lower memory slot. This is the same issue which has been discussed here before.

The stock DDR chip is a PC2700 200 pin.

Does anyone know of a compatible larger than 1gb capacity memory chip which will work? Has anyone successfully tried putting in a DDR2 PC-5300 2GB chip this series of PB? Will it physically fit and/or be recognised by the OS?

People have tried 2GB sticks and it won't recognize more than 1GB of it. Sorry.

First, I don't think DDR comes in sizes larger than 1GB. Second, it is my understanding that the physical layout was also different for DDR2... so I don't think that it will work.
