I've got a PB667 which I love, but I'm looking for more speed. Is it possible to buy a mac mini and use the display and keyboard of the PB to interface with the mini CPU? This would keep me going until apple can figure out how to build a G5 PB. Thanks for your thoughts.

As-is, you can't use the Powerbook's DKM as I/O for the mini. You might be able to hack/modify something, but you'd ultimately be disappointed.

If you dig around, you can find enough coupons to get a 2005FPW from Dell for $500 shipped (I just did) and you can pick up Apple's keyboard and mouse for $29 a piece.

If nothing else, you could sell your Powerbook to foot the bill for the new LCD. 🙂
