I run Parallels with Windows XP professional on my mac book pro. This doesn't support direct x or direct 3d. does bootcamp support these, or will parallels update and be able to. I would love to play some old windows games but I can't.

You're going to want to boot into Windows for gaming.

Instead of running a virtual machine you're going to need to boot Windows directly on the hardware.

Windows runs in Boot Camp just like it does on a PC, but you can't run Boot Camp while in OS X like with Fusion and Parallels.
