Hi, I'm a Switcher in the making - can't wait for a 15" AluBook ...

For the moment, though, I'm battling on with my crash-prone Dell Inspiron 8200. Because this machine is so unstable I need to get hold of an external back-up solution (I have reformatted and clean installed countless times now).

However, with a move to a Mac pending, it would be silly to spend on a solution I wouldn't be able to use with a Mac.

So, my question to you all is:

Can you suggest a cost-effective, relatively hassle-free, external back-up solution which will work with both PCs and Macs?

All responses greatly appreciated,

benjiP.

if the dell has firewire, or you could always just get a PCI firewire card, you could use a firewire enclosure on a regular hdd.

hope that helps

Thanks & Recommendations

nuckinfutz and Daniel, thanks for your responses.

Yes, the Dell has firewire - so what do I need from here? 80Gb should cover my needs in terms of capcaity - what hardware gets a recommendation?
