PC will be able to read mac archive/compressed okay??

I have a word doc and and excel xls in a normal folder (office 2008). I need to compress it and send it to somebody who has a pc.

On the Mac I believe archive is the equivalent of Zip

Will they be able open it ok, and read everything as it should be. THis is my 1st time doing this.

Yes, a PC should be able to open .zip files created on a Mac.
