PC World TechFriend service

I've just seen an advert on TV here in the UK from PC World. Apparently you can get one year's telephone support on your new beige/black/silver box running Windows Disaster for only £89.99!

Provider is called TechFriend - never heard of them - but I'm guessing there will be a lot of misguided people taking out this service thinking it'll be a good idea.

Kinda makes AppleCare look a really good deal 😀

The Apple warranty includes 90 days technical phone support I believe for free. If you want more, then you purchase AppleCare.

So I think maybe this is the same kind of deal, minus the 90 days free technical support? 😕

Exactly my point - just another example of how PC World try to gouge more money out of the poor schmucks who get drawn in by their ultra-cheap PC deals.
