MP 7,1 PCIe Sonnet USB 3 card not working Mac Pro 7,1

I put it in slot 7, a x8 lane, it doesn't specify it needs x16 lanes, any ideas why it doesn't work? Its recognised in 'about this Mac/pcie' but nothing plugged into it works.

I've put my Sonnet 3.1 in slot 7 and it works. I had the same problem with a cheaper card tho.
