MP 7,1 PCIe sound card for Mac Pro 7,1

Hi all
Recently got a Mac Pro 7,1 and wanted to connect it to my AVR via toslink digital audio cable. Does anything exist like this that would work under osx (I run the latest version) or does it have to be thunderbolt based? If the latter can anyone recommend something low priced that works?

Just be careful when you install the card. I had to add a bit of carton as it is to thin for the bracket backplane

Try punching "USB SPDIF" into eBay, and limit it to under-$40. I'm seeing numerous adapters that look promising.

According to the manufacturer yes, I guess if it does not work a return would not be a problem.

Managed to get one for £50 on eBay. Although the macOS driver is for big sur, I installed it on the latest macOS and it works without issue. Also good in windows 11.
