does that mean if i buy a larger capacity macbook air it will be faster?

people on the macbook pro forums are upgrading their drives for this when they don't need the space?

Generally, larger SSD drives have faster speeds.

    ok ;)

is it a lot faster to make it worth upgrading just for the speed?

Not at all, in my opinion. Buy what you'll need, not for more speed that you'll never see in real life.
