has this ever been confirmed to work? flashing Sil3124 with 2SE4 firmtek firmware?
theres a number of silicon image pb3124 cards being blown out on ebay atm, can get 2 of them for under 40$ and they come with bios sockets + MX large flash eeproms (the same brand of chip was good for flashing the sil3112's?)

Shipping to my location is (always) too expensive to try.

If you have a PC, you can try flashing it with the SeriTek firmware. And if that doesn't work, you still can re-flash it with the original firmware and use it as a non-bootable SATA-2 card by installing Silicon Image's Mac driver.

where are u located theres pb3124 cards for under 20 bucks on ebay

Asia. On eBay, the cheapest PB3124 is $11 but I've to email to ask the seller for the shipping which I wouldn't bother to do. The cheapest one that is "ready to be bought" is $12.50 plus $49.30 shipping. Most US sellers almost seem to avoid selling things outside the US.

True. And of those that do, the ones using USPS are pretty expensive. Not unusual to see $50+ for small packages. Better rates go with the GSP and at least you don't get stung with extra customs charges on import.
