I just bought a PowerBook 15" 1.5 GHZ model. This is my first Mac ever, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the process of switching from Windows and Linux.

One problem, though. I have a Sony PCMCIA Memory Stick reader that I use for my digital camera, and OS X 10.3 doesn't seem to recognize it. The card works fine in Windows, but when I plug it into the slot all I get is the little PC Card icon in the menu bar, with a dropdown menu that says "Unknown Vendor, Unknown Card Type" and which gives me the option to power the card off. The same thing happens regardless of whether I'm using a regular Memory Stick or a Memory Stick Pro in the reader.

Any idea how I can go about getting this thing to work?

I've also tried another Memory Stick reader, made by a different company, and had the same results.

Please Help!

I am having this same problem, only that I have seen it work before.

Now I am getting the same rsults as the other memeber posted above!

Anyone have any ideas how I can get the MemoryStick in the PCMCIA card slot to mount on my desktop like it used to?
